What is e-Citizen
E-Citizen is a computer skills programme for
people who want to use the Internet as a source
of information, as well as to shop, bank, book
holidays, pay bills and access government
services.
It has been
developed by the experts at the ECDL Foundations
to help more people use the Internet in their
daily lives. It builds up confidence in
the use of the Internet while teaching practical
information-search skills. It also
provides the know-how to use online services in
real life situation.
If you've used a
computer before but feel you don't know enough
about how to use the Internet, this is the
programme for you.

BLOCK 2 -
INFORMATION SEARCH
Makes the candidate
aware of the nature and extent of information
available on the Internet in the areas of news,
government, consumer, travel, educations,
employment, health, interest groups and
business. The candidate will learn about
the issues and risks associated with using the
Internet such as security risks in credit card
transactions, unscrupulous online service
providers and to be able to take precautionary
measures.

BLOCK 3 -
E-PARTICIPATION
The candidate will
be introduced into the world of online resources
and services in the areas of news, government,
consumer, travel , training, educations,
employment, health, interest groups and
business. The candidate will be able to
carry out every day tasks such as buying a CD or
book, paying a bill, banking online or making a
holiday reservation. The candidate will be able
to carry out tasks such a filling in a tax
return, finding out about new legislation,
submitting a job application, make a doctors
appointment or take part in an online discussion
forum.
