Overview

Equalskills is fun and informal Introduction to Computers and the Internet. It introduces the use and role of technology in the everyday lives of all people, regardless of status, education, age or ability. The programme was developed by ICS skills, the organisation responsible for ECDL in Ireland and is intended to be the user skills programmeto follow before undertaking the ECDL. The aim of Equalskills is to make people feel comfortable using a computer and to teach them the skills necessary to communicate using the internet and e-mail. It has the added bonus of providing certification to candidates who complete the programme. Certification is not exam based – it is awarded on the basis of continuous assessment by the centre’s Equalskills facilitator.
