Wexford
Information Networks for the Community
Westgate Computer
Centre, WINC Ltd, is a Wexford County Council
initiative established to
create access for the
citizens of Wexford to the Information Age and
to equip them with the
necessary skills to access, shape and gain
competitive advantage from the global
information super-highway.
The centre commenced
trading in November 1999 and is an Accredited
Test Centre for ECDL and Microsoft Office
Specialist. The centre
and all its trainers are also on the newly
updated FAS Register of Trainers.
We aim to help create a
skilled workforce in Wexford with the provision
of IT training programmess
that are industry accredited.
We put a particular emphasis on providing
access to IT for individuals, groups and
communities from areas of disadvantage in order
to narrow the gap between those who have and
those who have not.
The benefits from
fuller participation in the Information Age
include gaining access to and the ability
to use IT to improve the quality of life of
individuals and the community, to acquire skills
to improve economic independence, and to provide
social inclusion for those who are marginalized
in society.
With a growing IT
dependency in the global economy, people who
want to change jobs or accelerate
their career paths, or gain entry to the
job market are finding it necessary to routinely
update their skill sets.
We have a team of
committed, skilled and experienced trainers that
have both the technical and people
traits required to provide a high level
of training in a pleasant atmosphere.
