Overview

The hardware maintenance programme is designed to deal with practical PC maintenance, support and trouble shooting by providing participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to deal with problems on their own PCs. The course will help you get through the everyday tasks you need to perform on your PC. The course provides a down-to-earth overview on setting up and maintaining an office or home PC.

Participants will be given hands-on experience in assembling, configuring, upgrading and repairing PCs. They will also learn how to troubleshoot hardware and software problems that accompany configurations.

  • Standards of best practice with viruses, security, internet abuse, back up, etc

Objectives

To give participants a good understanding of PC maintenance, support and Troubleshooting. Understand architecture of PC. Install hardware and diagnose problems. Use Virus protection software. Move and setup PCs and connect all cables. Download and install software patches. Installation of software. Add printers. Clean up hard disks. Defrag and backup hard disks.
