Westgate Computer Centre & Wexford Local Development

We have teamed up with WLD in delivering FREE training courses for the unemployed. Currently we are doing 3 pre-ecdl courses with WLD in Wexford town, Gorey & Enniscorthy. The pre-ecdl in Gorey will commence on 31/1/12 and in Enniscorthy on 7/2/12. Following these courses we will run an ECDL course here in Wexford. WLD will run many different courses throughout the year. If you are interested in any of these courses you can register with WLD by contacting their Wexford office on 053 91 55800. They will be glad to assist you in any way they can.

Registered FÁS Centre - Westgate Computer Centre is a FÁS Registered Centre

Further Education Training and Awards Council (FETAC) - Westgate Computer Centre is a registered provider of FETAC Programmes. Our Quality Assurance procedures has been approved.

European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) - Westgate Computer Centre is an ECDL and ECDL Advanced Certified Training Centre and our Tutors are fully qualified IT training professionals and the Centre is a Certified Training Centre

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) - Westgate Computer Centre is a MOS Certified Training Centre, become a MOS Specialist or a MOS Expert (Advanced) with us.

Touch Type Read & Spell (TTRS) - Westgate Computer Centre is a TTRS certified Training Centre, TTRS is a multi-sensory computer learning course for those with dyslexia, reading, writing and spelling difficulties, and other learning differences.

Room Rental - Westgate Computer Centre operates 2 Computer rooms, one with 20 PCs running MS Office 2007, a second room with 10 computer running MS office 2007. For room rental please contact the Centre Manager on 051-357731

FREE Classes now available on our Touch Type Read & Spell programme (TTRS)

Come and join our free hour long introduction to the TTRS programme. We are running a scheduled day during the Halloween break for all age groups including adults. If you are interested or you might know anybody who would be interested in this free lesson please contact us to book a place. The free classes will be available on Wednesday 2nd November at the following times:

Session 1: 10.00am – 11.00am

Session 2: 11.30am – 12.30pm

Session 3: 2.00pm – 3.00pm

Session 4: 3.30pm – 4.30pm

ECDL Exams Only - Walk in Testing

If you feel that your computer skills are top class but would like to get them certified, why not contact us and get your ECDL Certification by doing the exams only. Contact us for details. You just let us know when you want to do the exam and we will organise the rest.

Report published by the European Commission on 4 , February 2010 states:

At present, one in three Europeans of working age has few or no formal qualifications, making them 40% less likely to be employed than those with medium level qualifications.
Those with low qualifications are also much less likely to upgrade their skills and follow lifelong learning.
Companies that train their staff are 2.5 times less likely to go out of business compared to those that do not.
Some 80 million job opportunities are expected to arise in the next decade, almost 7 million of which will be new, and most of these jobs will require a more highly-skilled workforce.
