Get Certified. Be Informed. Be protected

Online training course leading to a valued certificate in PC security and safe computing.

Validate Your PC Security Knowhow

The NetAssure Certification from ICS Skills is a stand-alone, to-the-point training course that focuses on the key aspects of PC security in a world of viruses, spyware, spam and other hazards and nuisances. Taking about eight hours to complete, the course will be of value to everyone who uses a PC at work or at home.

Course Contents

NetAssure students will cover the following three topics:

  1. Malware: Viruses, worms and trojans - what they are, how they operate, and what damage they can cause. Also covered are the three main detection methods used by anti-virus and other anti-malware products.
  2. Spyware: Online data theft through keyloggers, RATs and similar programs is now a daily threat faced by Internet users. Students will learn how spyware functions and how firewalls can protect PCs against online intrusion and information theft.
  3. Spam:Junk mail and criminal scams now account for some 50% of all Internet e-mail. Students will be introduced to the various filtering techniques used to distinguish between genuine e-mail messages and unwanted spam.

Online Learning

The full course is available online through the NetAssure website. Students can log in whenever and as often as they wish. Eight practice quizzes are included to reinforce the course material.
